Reparata & the DelronsLook in My Diary - Reparata & the Delrons

Sunday 25th May 2003: Hidden under the pillow, a leather-bound, guilt-edged, tear-stained girl-pop teenage classic.

The only diaries I've ever read are the Hitler diaries, Bobby Robson's diary of the 1981 season and my sister's diary from 1986. I get them mixed up.

8th November 1923: Me and Alfredsenberg organised a little beer hall shake-up. The press were hovering vulture-like after our four straight losses at the start of the season. We were sitting ducks. I jumped onto a table and fired one or two shots into the ceiling. Backs were against the wall. Mum and Dad let me stay up to watch the Thorn Birds.

Adriano Celentano Sabato Triste - Adriano Celentano

You like champagne? I'll buy you a bottle. I'm in the top 5 per-cent of the sales force. Wanna come back to mine and listen to some Italian music?

Adriano Celentano, actor, director and Italy's top rock star, played a singer in Fellini's La Dolce Vita.

Fellini's 8 1/2 started a trend for self-referential cinema about film directors. The pick of the genre is Un Gatto Nel Cervello (A Cat in the Brain), a film-within-a-film about cannibalism, gross violence against kittens and, of course, a neurotic film director trying to complete his masterwork.

I will never eat steak tartar again.

Manifesto & Book News

If it's ever been on K-Tel or Ronco, it's in. If it features hand claps, cow bells, syrupy orchestration, walls of sound, wrecking crews, sha-la-las, toothy teen idols, candy-based metaphors for carnal acts or lyrics about hugging, squeezing and rocking all night long, it's in.
