Michael NesmithWax Minute - Michael Nesmith

Atmospheric swirly trippy psychedelic country pop from the ex-Monkee and multimedia visionary.

As well as being heir to the liquid paper fortune, Nesmith also created the music video concept that eventually became MTV.

Nesmith's 1972 album 'Tantamount to Treason' featured a recipe for Home-brew beer. These were the days when Boots the Chemist made most of their money from selling elaborate Home Brewing kits, polaroid cameras and high strength liquid Night Nurse, thus being the only British high street store to cater entirely for deviants.

Olivia Newton John Let it Shine - Olivia Newton John

Co-written by ex-Monkee, real ale bootlegger and Tippex millionaire Michael Nesmith, here's a peppy awww-shucks slice of country pop from the only Australian woman who you wouldn't want to beat with a varnished stick.

Though she deserves a slap for the Grease Megamix.

Australia is the one country that still hasn't got over the whole 'grunge thing'... or the 'baggy surfwear and leather jewelry thing'. Someone really should tell them.

I bet Home Brew is still popular in Australia.

Manifesto & Book News

If it's ever been on K-Tel or Ronco, it's in. If it features hand claps, cow bells, syrupy orchestration, walls of sound, wrecking crews, sha-la-las, toothy teen idols, candy-based metaphors for carnal acts or lyrics about hugging, squeezing and rocking all night long, it's in.
