Wikka Wrap - The Evasions
Novelty disco rap and spot-on funk tribute to
leisure-suited 70's TV anthroplogist, Alan Whicker.
A turntable hit in the US (or 'Across the Pond' as Whicker might say) Wikka Wrap draws on the playful
pop cult non sequiturs and inventive hipster phrasing of early Rap. Regrettably, in recent years mainstream Rap lyrics have become synonymous with laughable self-aggrandisement and
stomach-churning misogony .
To balance things out, I propose a radical new Hip Hop semiology... replacing aggressive misogony (Bitch, 'Ho) with Milkman-influenced mildly patronising sexism (Luv, Petal, Darling).
