Wikka Wrap - The Evasions

Novelty disco rap and spot-on funk tribute to leisure-suited 70's TV anthroplogist, Alan Whicker.

A turntable hit in the US (or 'Across the Pond' as Whicker might say) Wikka Wrap draws on the playful pop cult non sequiturs and inventive hipster phrasing of early Rap. Regrettably, in recent years mainstream Rap lyrics have become synonymous with laughable self-aggrandisement and stomach-churning misogony .

To balance things out, I propose a radical new Hip Hop semiology... replacing aggressive misogony (Bitch, 'Ho) with Milkman-influenced mildly patronising sexism (Luv, Petal, Darling).

The House Song - Lee Hazlewood

To rent or to buy? Fixed rate or endowment?

More moustache-based musical exotica from ace Texan writer/producer Lee Hazlewood as he contrasts a failing relationship with a marital home put up for sale; it's staircase of passion crumbling, it's floorboards of commitment creaking and both inhabitants moving to seperate shared houses in Barking.

In addition to his career as a five star triple threat writer/producer/performer, Hazlewood also found time to play the role of earnest inner city school teacher Bernard Hedges in 70's sitcom Please Sir.
